See the MUSD Enrollment Webpage for information on enrollment. Please read MUSD Enrollment Webpage carefully for the fastest way to get answers to your questions. You must enroll your child at your resident school based on your Milpitas resident address. If you do not know your resident school, please use the District's School Locator.
Families should complete online enrollment, and then wait to be contacted regarding completing the enrollment process. Mattos will be notified when you've completed online enrollment and you will be contacted in the order enrollment was completed. Please do not come to Mattos in person without an appointment. Questions can be directed to Julien Kim, Mattos principal secretary, at firstname.lastname@example.org and 408.635.2695 x2107.
Frequently Asked Questions
If my child is currently a Mattos student in the 2023-24 school year, is there anything I need to do when enrollment opens for 2024-25? Returning students automatically continue enrollment as long as they still live in the Mattos attendance zone. Also, returning students MUST have their data confirmation updated at the beginning of every year in Aeries. Simply log in and get started.
Will there be a lottery for TK or kindergarten enrollment for the 2023-24 school year? There will not be a lottery for TK or kindergarten. Students will be placed in order of date and time of enrollment.
If my child is on a waitlist, how will I know when a seat is available? The Mattos School Office will contact you by phone as soon as the seat becomes available. Personal contact with you will be made before moving down the list. The office can not make predictions on when a seat will become available.
Can I keep my place on the Mattos waitlist if I choose not to go to the MUSD overflow school and instead send my child elsewhere? No. Once your child is withdrawn from MUSD, you forfeit your place on the waitlist and will move to the bottom when you reenroll to MUSD.
If my child is currently enrolled in TK for the 2022-23 school year, will they have priority seating at Mattos for kindergarten? Yes
Do they need to re-enroll? They do not need to re-enroll via Aeries Online Enrollment, however, you will need to provide proof of residency during the residency verification window early spring. Details are forthcoming.
If I have a child already attending Mattos in another grade in the 2022-23 school year, will my newly enrolling TK or kindergartener have priority seating at Mattos? Yes, if enrollment for the TK or Kindergartener is completed by February 11th.
What is the enrollment process? It is the same as all new TK and kindergarteners enrolling for the 2023-24 school year. Your child must enroll by February 11th at 1:00pm to hold your child's seat so we have a full headcount of sibling enrollments. If your incoming student’s enrollment is not complete by February 11th at 1:00pm, a seat at Mattos will not be guaranteed.
What is the enrollment process for newly enrolling 1st-6th graders for 2023-24? New students enrolling in 1st-6th grade for the 2023-24 school year will follow the standard district enrollment process. Therefore, families should complete online enrollment, wait to be contacted regarding completing the enrollment process, and then will be seated according to their completed date and time of enrollment.
When will I know if my 1st-6th grader is enrolled at Mattos for 2023-24? 1st-6th graders will be assigned as seats are available and parents will be notified as soon as assigned. Remaining students will be placed on a waitlist and should go to Mattos on the first day of school. Anyone on the wait list who is not seated at Mattos will be assigned to another school within the first 10 days of school.
