Williams Act

Notice to Parents and Guardians Complaint Rights

Pursuant to California Education Code section 35186, you are hereby notified that:

• There should be sufficient textbooks and instructional materials. That means each pupil, including English learners, must have a textbook or instructional materials, or both, to use in the class and to take home to complete required homework assignments.

• School facilities must be clean, safe, and maintained in good repair.

• Students will be taught by qualified teachers. Criteria for lack of qualified teachers are that (1) the student attends a class or classes for which no permanent teacher is assigned; or (2) the student attends a school in which more than 20% of teachers do not have full, non-emergency teaching credentials; or (3) the student is an English Language Learner (ELL) and is assigned a teacher who has not been specially qualified by the State to teach ELL students.

A complaint form may be obtained at the school office, district office or downloaded from the District's website at http://www.musd.org
